Craig W. Stires, P.E.
PresidentCraig Stires joined the company in 1993 and worked his way up from Project Engineer and now is positioned to lead Stires Associates into the future. Having received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, Mr. Stires is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. Mr. Stires has extensive site development experience and understands the planning, surveying and engineering requirements for all of your future projects. Mr. Stires was employed with McTish, Kunkel and Associates in Allentown, PA upon graduation where he worked as a Design Engineer, assistant Municipal Engineer, Project Manager and Bridge Inspector. Mr. Stires was involved in the preliminary designs of Route 84 and Route 22 where his tasks included traffic counts, bridge inspection, preliminary drainage layout and preliminary interchange layouts.
His tasks now include supervising all office and field work for the firm through planning, scheduling and technical review of professional services. He also is responsible for maintaining state-of-the-art technology for our office. Among Mr. Stires' Professional Affiliations are the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Richard C. Mathews, PLS
Vice-PresidentMr. Mathews is a graduate of Paul Smiths College with an Associates of Applied Science, degree in Forest Technology. Since graduation, Mr. Mathews has been employed with Stires Associates in all levels of the surveying discipline culminating in his licensure as a New Jersey Professional Land Surveyor.
Mr. Mathews has been with the company for over 24 years and has been our Chief Surveyor for 15 of these years and has handled all aspects of the Survey Department including planning and scheduling and overseeing execution of all field surveys. Over the past ten years, Rich has specialized in the research and preparation of ALTA Surveys for numerous large corporations. Mr. Mathews is also proficient in the preparation of property surveys, right-of-way acquisition, vegetative analysis and construction stake-out.
